Advocacy

At Host Nottingham we are passionate about advocating for a just asylum system. We endeavor to continually be educating ourselves on government policy updates, and contribute to effectively supporting asylum seekers and refugees in the UK by working collaboratively with like minded organisations and charities. 

We are members of NACCOM (The No Accommodation Network) who exist to share knowldge and encouragement to organisations and charities in the anti-destitution and refugee sector. You can find out more about the work they do here: naccom.org.uk/

Advocating for those with NRPF during Covid-19

"At the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis, the secretary of state said "Everybody In" and that funding would be provided to councils to end homelessness. Since then, it's been suggested that this might not apply to those with No Recourse to Public Funds."

Thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and committee, we had a brilliant result - a question in parliament asked by Alex Norris regarding those with No Recourse to Public Funds. "This is nonsense. Of course, this virus could not care less about someone's migration status". Watch the whole video here:
